Homework Starts this Week

Hello! I hope everyone had a restful weekend. I wanted to let you know that homework starts this week.

Math: Your child will have a math paper with math skills that
we are currently woking on in class. Your child will
have the entire week to complete this page. It is due
on Friday morning. This week we are working on counting
a collection of coins.

Spelling: Your child will have a spelling test every other week.
The other weeks that we do not have a spelling test
we will be working on a spelling skill.
They will have 5 new words and several review words
that are currently on our work wall. Please practice
their words so that they will know how to spell these
words for the test. (They have the 5 new words written
in their planner.)

New words: get, through, back, much, go
Review words: they, have, what, there, which, been,
now, little, called

Reading: Please read with your child every night for at least
20 minutes. Thank you so much for being consistent
with this and signing your child’s reading log!
I am still in the process of testing students to see
what their reading level is so please be patient with
books that are being sent home. I will start
guided reading within the next couple of weeks.
