Field Trip

Our field trip is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22. We will be going to the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler. Volunteers are encouraged to come and help out with the students. If you are interested in volunteering, you must complete and be cleared with a criminal background check. Due to the available seating on the buses, volunteers must drive their own vehicles and meet us at the zoo around 9:30. If you are a volunteer, you will be responsible for a group of students and be required to stay the entire duration of the field trip. Also, due to safety issues and because you will be responsible for a group of students we ask that you do not bring siblings with you on our field trip. The zoo will charge $8.40 for volunteers to enter the zoo. There is no charge for students. I am sending a note home today, please be looking for it, fill it out, sign it and return it as soon as possible.
Thank you for your help!

PBL Project

For the next 5 weeks we will be working on a PBL Project as a class. As you know we are taking a field trip to the landfill and recycling center. This is all part of the 5 week PBL project to introduce the students to recycling, why recycling is important and how it keeps the Earth clean and protected for future generations. Ask your child about recycling and what they are learning to help the environment. Maybe take on a recycling family project at home.

Spring Break

Even though it doesn’t feel like it, Spring Break is almost upon us. Next week is Spring Break (March 8th – 16th). School will resume Monday, March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day). Also remember that Saturday night (Sunday morning) is Daylight savings time. Please remember to set your clocks ahead one hour. Hope everyone has a warm, fun, safe Spring Break!!
