Spelling/Phonics– We have a spelling test. Here are our words for this week:
New words: even, part, does, because, must
Review words: your, their, how, many, these, people, through, much, also

Reading– This week we are learning about Author’s Purpose (PIE) P= persuade, I= inform, E= entertain
Also we will not have guided reading for the next couple of weeks because we are doing our reading benchmarks. Your child will be responsible for choosing their own books to read unless they are in a group that is reading chapter books.

Math– We are continuing addition with regrouping up to the hundreds place.

I apologize for not sending this out sooner but I have been out of town at a workshop in Dallas. Your child should also have a new book to read tonight.

Math- We are continuing place value and we are now adding 2 digit math problems. ex. 25+13= 38

Reading- We are still looking for the main idea and supporting details in a passage.
